SBSCH Closes 30 June — Act Now

Less than a month to switch — here's what you need to do before the door closes for good.

If your business uses the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) to pay employee super, time is running out. The SBSCH closes permanently on 1 July 2026, which means you have less than a month to switch to an alternative provider, test your new setup, and iron out any issues — all before Payday Super kicks in.

The ATO is urging affected employers to take action now. Here's what needs to happen before 30 June:

Download your SBSCH records. Once the system closes at 11:59 pm AEST on 30 June, access is gone for good. You won't be able to log in, view payment history, or retrieve any records — so download everything now. You may need these records for future audits or employee queries.

Stop using the SBSCH and test your new payment method. Don't wait until the last minute to switch. Give yourself time to get comfortable with your new provider and make sure payments are processing correctly before the deadline.

Be ready to pay super through your new provider from 1 July. From that date, super must also be paid under the new Payday Super rules — meaning contributions need to reach your employees' super funds within 7 business days of each payday.

If you're not sure which alternative is right for your business — whether that's your existing payroll software, a commercial clearing house, or a super fund's own payment portal — get in touch with the RGA team. We can help you make the switch smoothly and ensure you're set up and compliant before the deadline.
